Sam Williams is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) with over twenty-five years of business experience dealing with complex financial and operational issues in manufacturing and service industries. As a consultant, Sam has helped maximize stakeholder value for more than 100 financially-troubled companies throughout the country. His typical responsibilities include managing engagements, conducting financial analyses, and developing workout strategies in difficult situations involving turnarounds, workouts, re-financings, asset sales, and bankruptcies.
Sam has been engaged in numerous industries, including but not limited to, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, engineering, trucking, railway, paper, environmental, energy, giftware, travel, lighting, motorcycles, heat treatment, automotive, e-commerce, appraisals, food services, clothing, steel, packaging, signage, chemicals, injection molding, snack food vending, scrap metal, consumer products, and fast food restaurants.
He has served in a variety of roles for clients, including President, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Project Management, and Financial Advisor. One of his areas of expertise is the field of bankruptcy, where he has served as a Financial Advisor for both debtors and creditors in several successful Chapter 11 reorganizations.
Prior to consulting, Sam was a Chief Operating Officer for a financially-distressed company with five subsidiaries. He lived and worked in the United Kingdom in the early 1990s, and traveled to 22 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He began his career as a mechanical engineer for Exxon-Mobil after the completion of his undergraduate studies.
Sam is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
